Niger Delta militant group, Concerned Militant Leaders (CML), has claimed responsibility for yesterday’s attack at Onitsha river, Anambra State, where eight soldiers were feared dead
Spokesman of the group, popularly known as General Ben, revealed this yesterday in the social media.

He also claimed the group executed the attack in Nkpor where three persons were killed and the burning of a police patrol van in Onitsha.

Niger Delta Avengers, the new militant group that has launched multiple attacks on oil and gas installations in the Niger Delta region, has struck yet again.

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC and the Trade Union Congress, TUC have resolved to proceed mobilise workers to begin indefinite strike,tomorrow over fuel hike.

The workers’ action, according to Vanguard source, is to take effect from 12 midnight today. This was the resolution of the union at its National Executive Council, NEC meeting, held today, at the NLC headquarters in Abuja.

A newly formed Nigerian Niger Delta militia group, the “Niger Delta Avengers,” has carried out its threats to wreak havoc country’s economy by blowing up oil and gas pipelines.

The latest attacks on pipelines occurred 24 hours after a major destruction was carried out on Chevron’s platform at Escravos.

In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Mudoch Agbinibo, and made available to the press on Friday, May 6, 2-16, the group  claimed responsibility for blowing up “crude line feeds that links Warri and Kaduna refineries respectively”.

U.S. tech giant Google plans to help alleviate unemployment in Africa by giving free training to 1 million young Africans in digital skills in the next 12 months, the company said in a press conference in Johannesburg.

In South Africa, where 35 percent of 15-to-34-year-olds are unemployed, Google plans to train 300,000 people within the next year, according to Bloomberg. Another 400,000 Nigerians and 200,000 Kenyans will receive free digital training, while 100,000 people will be selected from other sub-Saharan Africa countries.
